INSPIRATION FOR THE MONTH

It’s that time of year again when we put our New Year’s Resolutions into action, so here’s a challenge for you….Instead of a resolution that pinpoints something wrong with you (I need to diet, exercise more, be a better mom/dad, etc….), try to find one that highlights and strengthens what is good about you.  Resolve to like who you are and in doing so, we can send a strong message to our kids that they are perfect the way They are!

PAC…and THE WORLD OF BLOGGING!

Our JRES Parent Advisory Board BLOG is up and running – the first couple of posts contain the December and January newsletter blurbs, and as it develops, will host, links to our meeting agendas, past meeting minutes and a blog page where parents are encouraged to submit their thoughts on parenting, education, sports programs, allergies, and any topic you can think of that would benefit our school & parent community.

Our next PAC meeting is set for Tuesday, January 10^th, 2012 at 6:30pm.  We will be discussing fundraising ideas for the New Year, our next Family Fun night (Shakewood Annie?), updates on one-to-one reading, Safe Arrival, Campbell’s Soup Labels, Mrs. Pannu’s upcoming trip…and much more.  Please come and share your thoughts, ideas, and inspiration with us as we help shape and create our children’s education!

A HO-HO-HOLIDAY THANK YOU TO:

Pamela Thomson and the many volunteers that organized HOT DOG DAY on November 30^th!  Kids have so much fun with it, and it raises much needed funds for our PAC.   Thank you for everyone who donated their time to collect money, shop, cook, chop, sort, deliver and tidy up afterwards!  Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

PAC…BEYOND THE BAKE SALE!

Please join us as we venture into the world of technology.  Your PAC is currently in the process of updating the JRES website with current contact information, links to our meeting agendas, past meeting minutes and a blog page where we can share information that is pertinent to our community.  Once up and running parents are encouraged to share their thoughts on parenting, education, sports programs, allergies, and any topic you can think of that would benefit our school & parent community.
